How Do I Reserve A Bed?
The first step is filling out the "Get Started" form. We will then contact you about availability and next steps.
How are you dealing with COVID-19?
The safety and health of our tenants is incredibly important. We have redoubled cleaning and sanitization procedures including wiping down any high touch areas. Our units are deep cleaned weekly. Cleaning and sanitizing product are available in all units.
How many beds are there per room?
Our bedrooms have 3-6 total beds per room. The most common setup is 4 beds per room. We only offer cold beds, meaning one person is assigned to one bed for the entire month. On any given night there is likely to be only one person per room. All of our beds have extra privacy either in the form of curtains on the bunk beds or cubicle-style privacy walls on the single beds.
Is the Neighborhood Safe?
Both of our crashpad locations are located in a very family-friendly areas of Chicago with a very low crime rate. Many city employees including policemen, firemen, etc., live in both neighborhoods.
Can I Live in Your Crashpad Full-Time?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate full-time occupants at our crashpad. You can be on reserve or have a line, but you cannot live in it full time and/or make it your official mailing address.
Are your facilities smoke free?
Yes. If you would like to smoke, there are outdoor areas that you can utilize.
Can I have a visitor or friend visit or spend the night?
Friends are allowed to visit, hang out, watch the game, etc. Non-tenants are not allowed to spend the night.
Do You Provide Bedding?
Yes. We provide clean, used bedding. If you'd like to bring your own bedding, that is perfectly fine.
Is there a Gym nearby?
The Higgins House has a Planet Fitness within walking distance. At The Brick there is a small recreational area with a treadmill and weights in the garage. The Brick and Brown Stone crashpads are welcome to use the rec area. There are other fitness options a 10-20 minute bus ride away that include: Dog House CrossFit, HardCore Fitness Studio, XSport Fitness and Norwood Fitness Center. All homes are just a short jog away from Chicago's North Branch Trail.
How much is monthly rent?
Our prices range from $245-$345. Please visit a specific location's page to see our monthly rent costs.
Do you have Laundry facilities?
A washer and dryer are located in the basement of each home. You’re responsible for your own detergent.
Do you have WIFI and Cable?
We know that fast internet and cable are a must-have at a crashpad. We have the fastest internet and largest cable package available.
How are your crashpads cleaned?
We have a professional maid service that visits our homes weekly. For everyday cleaning, like washing dishes, you are responsible for cleaning up after yourself.
What do you do about snoring?
We encourage those with snoring problems to seek other accommodations. Snoring has the potential to interrupt the rest of other tenants and will exclude you from being able to utilize this shared space for rest.
